Sexological Bodywork
This is the conversation your body has been waiting to have!
These sessions are a structured, consent-based somatic practice for learning about your body, sexuality, pleasure, boundaries and choice through embodied experience.
Our body often has the answers that our mind is trying to work out. In order for the body’s wisdom to come to life, we have to slow down and ask the right questions. This is where Tegan comes in.
These sessions allow you space to hear and learn the language of your body in real time. Alongside talking about your experiences, we predominantly work with your body’s nervous system, muscles, breath, and tissues that hold memories, patterns, and protective responses that need slowness, presence and attention to unwind.
Together, we will find a way forward to:
Feel safer in your body
Understand your arousal, desire, pleasure and eroticism
Release shame or tension
Re-pattern your belief system & relationships
Build confidence and choice in intimacy
Integrate trauma and abandoned parts of yourself
Understand consent, boundaries and wants
Re-sensitise numbness
Learn to experience and hold sensation
Understand what your body is wanting during sex
Staying present with arousal
Remediate scars; physical and emotional
Release tension
Feel alive, connected and more yourself
It can be confusing to know what to expect with body-based, experiential work. Here’s exactly what Sexological Bodywork is not:
✘ Sex therapy - it’s a body-based practice rather than primarily talking about sexual concerns.
✘ Massage therapy - although touch may be involved, the intention is sexual embodiment, education and awareness rather than relaxation or treating muscles.
✘ Sex work - it is not a service where the practitioner provides sexual gratification or sexual acts.
✘ A sexual experience with the practitioner - the practitioner doesn’t become a sexual partner or participate for their own pleasure.
✘ A performance or something you have to be “good” at - there is no goal of achieving a particular sexual response, orgasm or outcome.
✘ Something you have to undress for - clothing, partial nudity or nudity can be discussed depending on the modality, but consent and choice are central.
✘ A place where anything goes - there are clear professional boundaries, agreements and consent practices.
✘ A replacement for medical care - it doesn't diagnose or treat medical conditions, and medical concerns may need referral to an appropriate health professional.
✘ About fixing your sexuality - the focus is more on developing awareness, choice, agency, pleasure, communication and a relationship with your body.
✘ Just about pleasure - it can involve exploring boundaries, shame, arousal, sensation, sexual functioning, embodiment, trauma patterns, emotional release, communication and relationship to desire.
“I really benefitted from her holistic approach to therapy, reconnecting with my body and learning how to inhabit my own safety. I have been able to reignite intimacy with my partner and feel more comfortable with my own sexuality.”
— Heterosexual Female, 32
“I have changed my relationship with my sexuality - it is now a source of joy, rather than anxiety.”
— Heterosexual Male, 37
These sessions are slow, consensual, trauma-aware, and always guided by your boundaries. If you’re ready to go there and be in a safe, confidential and non-judgement space, you’re in the right hands.
